As the approaching of the energy crisis, the resources issue has become a bottleneck of restricting human development; it’s the general trend that new energy will gradually replace traditional fossil fuels. Solar energy has become one of the best alternative energy instead of traditional fossil energy because of its low cost, economical, clean and safe, non-polluting, unlimited reserves and many other advantages. However, the conversion efficiency of solar energy is inefficient which restrict its promotion for a long time. There are many channels to improve the conversion efficiency of solar energy and one of the most inexpensive and effective way is to install solar tracking system on solar energy conversion devices. The technology of solar tracking has come out for years, there are kinds of solar tracking devices on the market, but the traditional tracker has the disadvantage of structure-complex, high cost, and generally only be used in large power station, so it still can’t be used in ordinary family.As the technology of the solar energy progressed day by day, solar energy devices have come into thousands of households gradually, but the current energy conversion efficiency is inefficient. The monocrystalline silicon solar panel has the highest conversion efficiency which can reach more than 20% in the laboratory but actually can only reach 15-18% in household use and usually very expensive. In order to raise the energy conversion efficiency of solar energy, this thesis designed a household solar tracking system. The main contents of the thesis are as follows:(1) Presented design scheme for household solar tracking system according to the comparative analysis, which used stc12c5a60s2 as the master chip of the system, 28BYJ48 as the stepper motor drive, and photoresistor as the light collection elements.(2) Accomplished the development of the power module tracking system, the light gatheringmodule, a reset circuit module, the circuit design of the motor driving module and the system software on the basis of comprehensive consideration of energy consumption, reliability, cost and other factors. The system software and hardware co-simulation debugging laid a solid foundation for the physical product making.(3) Made a set of single-axis tracking system object and a set of dual-axis tracking system object after completed the device design, making a comparative experiment of generated power between the solar head plate fixed installation and tracking with uniaxial and biaxial.The thesis aims to achieve making use of solar tracking system in household, the design overcomes the disadvantage of traditional solar tracker’s high running cost, and have features of light weight, easy installation, low cost, stable performance, and the tracking accuracy is also fully meet the needs of household. Experiments showed that the system can effectively improve the energy conversion efficiency, and which can be used in household solar competently.
