LCK6105PHENV type serial electric city bus has the advantages of energy-saving, environmental protection, noise reduction and riding comfort, etc. It is the ideal model of city bus users more preference. Currently, due to the disadvantage of the key technology of electric battery, increasing the battery capacity, it means that the weight of electric passenger vehicle will also increase, therefore, in order to increase the mileage of electric vehicle, realizing the lightweight of electric bus body structure, it is the important task of research and design for electric bus. Frame is as the core component of bearing the each assembly of electric bus, its light-weight has become an important research topic in the field of electric vehicle nowadays.The article is based on the theory of finite element analysis and optimization design, the electric city bus is aimed at this lightweight study, based on ANSYS Workbench14.0, using structure statics analysis theory, and with the combination of Leaf springs three freedom equivalent processing method, it has done the static finite element analysis research for electric bus frame, and on frame boundary conditions of pro cessing, it has done the analysis for results images respectively in 6 kinds of typical conditions(including the Full bending condition, Wheels dangling condition, Vehicle acceleration condition, Vehicle obstacle condition, Vehicle braking condition and Vehicle turning condition), at the same time, it has done the nonlinear analysis for electric bus front and rear Leaf springs and obtains the stiffness values. Then, a study on dynamic characteristics of the frame, using the modal analysis theory, obtaining natural frequency and vibration mode of the electric bus frame structure, and compared analysis with interference frequencies of the outside world, the simulation results show that the frame doesn’t occur resonance, and the frame has still a lot of room for more optimization and improvement. Finally, using topology optimization design theory, establishing optimization model of the frame, and it has done topology optimization design of the frame, and the result show that the weight of the frame compared to the original frame is reduced by 5.8%, and it has done the theoretical verification for the improved frame by using static analysis theory, and has compared analysis with the original frame.
