As the main models of construction machinery in our country, excavator is widely used in all kinds of construction work. Hydraulic system design is the core technology of excavator product. Due to the excavator’s bad working conditions, complex working action, it puts forward high demands on the design of the hydraulic system. Its hydraulic system is also the most complicated in engineering machinery hydraulic system. Therefore, the analysis of excavator hydraulic system design is of great significance to promote China’s excavator development.Switch valve is a special kind of hydraulic speed control valve, belong to the two position six-way directional control valve. When the two positions turn to the others, it can change the connection form of motor in hydraulic system, then can realize the switch of motor series and parallel, and then realize the change of the output speed. There is throttling groove in the valve port of switching valve core. Different throttling groove can obtain different flow area of valve port. Flow rate and pressure of the same form of throttling groove in the valve port in certain circumstances is changing.Based on this, the main research content of this article isthe excavator walking switch valve and the walking hydraulic system characteristics. First introduce the difference between wheel excavator and crawler excavator, the prospects of the aspects of wheel excavator, and then combined with the application of switching valve in the wheel excavator, theoretical significance and realistic significance of this paper is clearly put forward.The main design content of this paper can be divided into three parts. The first part is valve core design of the switch valve and the simulation of flow area.First of all, according to the common throttling groove, this paper has derived the flow formula in valve port area of the U,the V, the U and V shape throttling groove, simulated flow area of switch valve using MATLAB software. The second part is to bulid the the model of switch valve and wheel excavator chassis using HCD library structures in AMESim software. And use Solidworks to bulid the 3D mode of switching valve, simulate and analyze on the shift quality of switch valve. The third part is the simulation of wheel excavator walking system. Combining with the results of analysis and simulation, to optimize structure size of the switching valve.
