A Study On The Aesthetic Characteristics Of The Landscape Space Of Lijiang Ancient City

Different ancient city has different culture and landscape features throughout the development of ancient cities. An ancient city always has thousands of years’ historical signs; meanwhile there is pregnant air and charm in the ancient buildings, dwellings, strong cultural atmosphere and unsophisticated folkway. China has vast territory with distinctive features in east-west-south-north geography, climate, and cultural history. In terms of space landscape, the ancient city of northern China shows the beauty of a capital city with long historical culture; the ancient city of northwest China shows the beauty of monumental deserts; while the ancient town of Jiangnan famous for its water shows the graceful beauty. The Lijiang ancient city which is known as “Oriental Venice”, located in the northwest of Yunnan, shows its high purity and the beauty of primitive simplicity by its unique culture and the spiritual landscape. The construction of network of water system, rows of residential buildings and the unique national style which show the essence of the Naxi, Bai, Tibetan and Han nationalities undoubtedly bring people with aesthetic experience of the body and mind of impact of visual sense, multicultural collision.This article discusses the Lijiang ancient city’s landscape, such as streets, constructions, water system and the aesthetic characteristics of national culture, etc. from the perspective of artistic aesthetics by using the aesthetic evaluation method of visual sense, psychological suggestion, and activities. It also makes profound analysis and argumentation from the perspective of streets, constructions, water system and the aesthetic characteristics of national culture based on the understanding of the aesthetic concepts and related theories with hoping to provide an effective method for the solution of development prospect and modes of aesthetic space. Meanwhile the viewpoint that the sustainable development of the ancient city or town is also a kind of cultural economic characteristic development is put forward. The presentation and implantation of ecological landscape, folk heritage and the cultural heritage of historical buildings play an important role in the sustainable development of the ancient town. Lijiang ancient city space is not only the support for development of tourism resources and the testimony of historical development, but also the carrier of experiencing the ancient city’s culture and natural style. The author thinks that the ancient city in different ages reflects the aesthetic features of different times facing the current updated phenomenon of the diversification of city design. When researching aesthetic features of the ancient city’s landscape space, the aesthetic vision should be established under the premise of the city plan, the evolution of ancient city and diversification of culture, and extensive analysis and discussion is needed. In this way can make people really feel the flexibility of landscape, adaptability of construction, the connotation and sense of wealth of traditional culture in different aesthetic systems.
