Research On The Application Of Human Factors In Landscape Design Of University Campus

College education is the foundation of a nation’s development, the power source for the progressing society. At the age of knowledge economy, our society has been investing heavily on the education and development of talent, as well as the culture creation and promotion. As the source for the development of human talent, the quality of college has drawn unprecedented attention from the society, and been put to another high level. Today’s social needs make today’s college education not as it was before, the place of merely knowledge transmissions. Rather students should develop more well-rounded personality, with bother inner cultivation and outer abilities. This change of education philosophy, with the rise of the development of information technology, and diversity of social values has brought new challenges to the college campus. This in turn demands college to make adjustment both in forms and in contents. College promotes humanity and scientism; also emphasize the importance of relations of moral and cultural values. College as a whole becomes more and more aware of environmental protection and respect of nature, the inheritance of culture and its promotion.Environment is critical to the development of a man’s personality externally, and plays an important role in the growth of a person. College as the education fountain for talent, its importance of environment is undoubtedly been put to the highest ground. College campus with rich cultural background is critical to the health of students. On the other hand, today’s education philosophy and social cultural concept have made great influence to the college campus environment, and made college environmental functions even more complex. Therefore, to create one campus with both cultural values and humanities spirits have become primary mission to college campus design. Not only to manage the relation between natural landscapes and school layout, but also manage school’s internal functions and its correlation with natural elements. More importantly, to connect campus’s natural landscape and humanities spirits, to make human spirits to be manifested in every corner on campus. This way could not only create a beautiful campus environment, but also uplift campus’s inner quality, increasing sense of recognition, making teachers and students on campus with strong sense of belongings and connections.This paper starts from human elements and college concepts and development, making analysis to different school landscape design forms and human traits, emphasize in particular the application of human elements in the design of college campus, analyze human elements’current conditions, trends, meanings, functions and beauty principles and their implications on the school landscape. All in all, humanities spirits are the critical components of campus atmosphere. On the campus’s entire design research should focus more on inherit schools’and local great cultural traditions. Hope this paper could contribute to the basis of campus landscape design and to provide help to future campus landscape design.
