With the development of technology and improvement of people’s living standards, the concept of smart home system becomes popular among the public. A new smart home solution is to indirectly control a variety of household electrical equipment connected to the socket by controlling the smart socket-the smart socket design. As an important part of the smart home,smart socket possesses functions like remote on-off control, monitoring power information,infrared remote control, LCD display and fault alarm, etc. Currently the smart sockets on the market have not yet reached the smart home system requirements. In view of this situation, we propose and implement an intelligent socket design based on LabVIEW.This paper introduces the design of intelligent socket from three aspects: hardware, lower machine programming and PC platform design.Firstly, smart socket hardware design includes the design of system power supply module,the controller module, signal acquisition module, an infrared module, display module and communication module. Wherein, the signal acquisition module consists of a voltage and a current acquisition circuit. Hardware design ideas are: System power supply module convert AC power to small-signal DC power to supply for the entire circuit; Signal acquisition module convert input signal to a small-signal DC voltage to transfer to the digital converter which designated a mathematical algorithm to obtain the voltage, current, power, power consumption,etc; Infrared remote control module receives command sent by the remote control;the controller decodes the instruction and do the corresponding operation; LCD display module shows the information including the voltage, current, total consumption of electricity;Communication module SIM900 A receives and sends short messages to make lower computer communicate with the PC platform or the mobile phone users.Secondly, the lower machine program uses a modular design, includes the main program,the timer and interrupt program, A / D conversion program, the signal data processing program,infrared signals data processing program, the display program and communication programs.Different programs have relative independence between modules, but all can be called in the main program. The programming environment is keil4, using the C programming language,which is simple, compact, flexible and easy to use.Thirdly, the PC platform adopts LabVIEW development techniques, including login module and the main interface. You can generate a small installer application after the program is completed. User runs the application to enter the login screen of the smart socket PC platform and enter the correct user name and password, and then they can enter the main interface to doremote operation like on-off control and obtain the current information.Finally, in a lab environment, this design features are achieved: The socket achieves remote-off control(including PC control, IR remote control and mobile phone user control), the display of power usage(including computer terminals, mobile phones and liquid crystal display terminal), the statistical report query, fault alarm, system configuration and other functions. The design meets the desired effect, and passed the test and verification.
