Research On The Penetration Power Model Of Small And Medium - Sized Gun

The paper focuses on the medium and small caliber bullet penetration power model systematically in depth against the long term unsolved problems for the difficulties to calculate exactly the bullet penetration power. Firstly the classification of the small and medium bullet and targets is completed. The penetration test method is established. Secondly, a lot of penetration experiments of multiple caliber cartridges of different structures against the wooden plate, mild steel plate, armored steel plate, composite target of "2mm thick 50# cold rolled steel plate with deal board" and helmet target etc.have been carried out. A large number of penetration experimental data have been obtained. The corresponding penetration coefficients have been calculated by use of the traditional formula. And the applicability of the formula has been validated. Thirdly, the new calculation model of the medium and small caliber bullet penetration power has been set up on the basis of large amount of experimental data. Finally the rationality and feasibility of using "wood-and-steel" composite target as the test method of cartridge penetration power evaluation through analysis of some typical targets are verified.
