Domestic and foreign researches have shown that the human factor is the major factor in leading most traffic accidents, the driver's awareness of the road traffic risk is an important key to traffic safety, and that in the road traffic,80%of information is obtained through the vision system. Therefore,it appears to be particularly important that the study on the driver's visual and behavioral characteristics. The visual behavior and its characteristics of different drivers of risk perception utility was taken as the starting point, based on the driving simulation system platform of Kunming University of Science and Technology, and the iView XTM HED 4 eye movement instrument as well as the BeGaze 3.5 were used to study difference in visual behavior and its characteristics of different drivers of risk perception utility and the correlation between them and the risk perception utility.A model of the relationship between visual behavior and its characteristics and the risk perception utility was established. The detailed contents are as follows:Firstly.31 participants who met the test requirements were recruited.During the five risk simulated driving, the driving behavior data and eye movement data and vehicle running data were recorded in real time and participants' responses to questionnaire were collected simultaneously.Through the theory of traffic conflict analysis and the risk perception utility, the risk perception utility value of the 31 drivers were obtained.By using the method of cluster analysis, participants were divided into four categories(e.g.,Conservative type,Intermediate type,Radical type,Composite type.).Secondly,a study on the visual behavior and characteristics of different risk perception utility drivers. The BeGaze 3.5,a driver's eye movement data analysis software, was used to extract 32 terms of data(e.g.,fixation,saccade,blink,etc.)And finally, according to what study requires, eight of these indicators was selected as the test indicators, namely, fixation count, fixation duration average, saccade velocity average, saccade amplitude average, saccade duration average, blink duration average, blink frequency, and blink count.Through the analysis of the eight indicators of participants' eye movement,Difference in fixation count, fixation duration average, saccade amplitude average, blink frequency, and blink countparticipants of different risk perception utility is significant respectively. Finally, based on the theory of planned behavior, the model of the relationship between driver's visual behavior and its characteristics and risk perception utility was constructed.Based on the data leveling and the expansion of the sample size, using the theory of planned behavior.the risk perception utility model framework was constructed with 12 variables including driving attitude, subjective specification, perceptual behavior control, gaze characteristics, blink characteristics, glance characteristics, etc.A structural equation model was used to construct the relationship model between driver's eye movement behavior and driver's risk perception utility type.and the model analysis shows that the fitting accuracy is good and can be used to explain the relationship between driver's eye movement behavior, behavior intention and risk perception utility type, and the visual characteristics and behavior are positively related to the driving behavior intention, and the behavior intention is positively correlated with the type of risk perception utility. The results of the study can provide drivers with new ideas for safety assessment...
