Study On Tooth Modification Of Double Enveloping Worm Gearing With Straight Side Profile

In this paper a mathematical model about meshing analysis of double enveloping worm gearing with straight side profile is set up and various modification parameters available in manufacturing are introduced and a software package is developed successfully. A rule determining modification type is summarized by selecting various modification parameters. The tooth contact zone is calculated and a method determining structure of worm wheel tooth flank on the basis of phase analysis is proposed .In this paper .a complete analysis is applied to the tooth modification ,on the base of different single parameters ,and the comprehensive modification .This paper conclude that tooth modification may be calssifled as type I ,type II .The choice of A a and A i of comprehensive modification type II which can be applied to manufacturing is discussed and the method is provided. This paper also provide the method to choose the A b which is an important parameter for the contact zone of worm wheel tooth surface. The existing modification methods are analysesed completely in this paper .The conclusion of the adaptability of symmetry modification and the useless of parabola modification is made.
