The traditional calculation methods for the thermal system and devices of a power generating plant are summarized. On the purpose of generality, applicability and simpleness, we developed the software package for plant power technician CAD (PPTC) by using the visual development tool called as C++ Builder of Jnprise. The primary research contents of the thesis and its contributions are as followings: 1. Based on the analysis of traditional manual calculations of thermal power system and devices, some calculating methods easily man aged by computer have been put forward. The newly technologies of the thermal power calculation for power plant were adopted in the analysis. On the purpose of power plant calculation, we collected the latest data and literature in the corresponding field. So the calculated results of this package have higher accuracy. 2. Based on the algorithm, we developed the PPTC package by using the visual development tool C++ Builder. 3. Based on the thermal system and devices calculations, the package was developed by utilizing some modem soft~vare techniques. The related graphs were drawn and can be viewed and printed at any time. For some calculations including more data, the database has been built to meet the needs of the systemic and credible data management. 4. The technical problems related to monitoring and management of power plant were discussed in detail. 5. Based on the preceding program expenences, we developed the abstract classes of power plant calculation fitting for the prevalence of the object oriented program(OOP). This offers the basis of the large soft development of power plant. These abstract classes were distributed by dynamic link library (DLL).
