Power plant is an important part of power system, and it is the source ofelectrical energy, in addition, the selection of main electrical wiring and auxiliarypower wiring will affect the safe and stable operation of the entire power systemdirectly. As for the safe and economic operation of power plant, the particularlyimportant thing is whether the auxiliary power wiring program is reasonable andreliable, so the requirements of factory technical regulations should be obeyed strictlywhen designing the program of auxiliary power wiring, and the relevant provisions ofElectrical Design Manual should be followed, then conducting detailed technical andeconomic comparison of several programs to select the optimal design program.Electrical calculations are critical to electricity design, because they are veryimportant to the choice of electrical wiring program, wires and electrical equipment,while the algorithms is complex, and it’s easy to make errors, so it will take largeamount of time and efforts by manual calculation. Making good use of computer tocomplete repetitive manual calculations is the best choice in order to reduce the laborintensity of electrical designer, to get rid of the complicate calculation means, and toimprove the quality and efficiency of electrical design calculations.There are about two types of electrical design calculation software in our country,one is professional electrical design calculation software imported from abroad, whichfunction is powerful, and is widely used in electrical system training, education andscientific research, however, the operation of this software is complex, so theparticipation of professional and technical personnel is required. The other one isdeveloped by domestic companies, but these softwares are all have their own differentcharacteristics and focus, some can not meet the needs of specific users well becausethey deviate from practical application. Therefore, a practical, efficient and highly integrated auxiliary calculationprogram of electricity design is developed using C#language based on detailedanalysis of domestic and foreign development and combined with relevant principlesof electrical design calculations. The program can be used to conduct flow calculation,short-circuit calculation, lightning protection and grounding calculation, wire tensionsag calculation and bus voltage verification. It not only provides effective computingservices to users, but also can generate calculation reports, in addition, it is easy tooperate and the calculation results are accurate. The potential development of thisprogram is great and it has good characteristics such as package and portability.At first, the soul of this software is described in detail, that is the algorithmprinciples of electrical design calculations, including power flow calculation,short-circuit calculation, lightning protection and grounding calculation, wire tensionsag calculation and bus voltage verification, and the algorithm principles areresearched and analyzed in detail. Then the method of developing this software usingVisual C#language is introduced, and the superiority of modular design isemphasized, in addition, the core function and overall design goals are analyzed, andthe block diagram and flow chart of the software are given, the functions of eachcalculation module are introduced. Finally, taking the auxiliary power wiring systemof a2×1000MW unit as an example, conducting the above calculations using thesoftware, the test proves the effectiveness and practicality of the software.The overall design of the software is divided into two parts:Part one: According to algorithm principles of electricity design, thecorresponding computer algorithms are designed and developed, which arecalculation modules of the software, and calculation modules are the core of thesoftware, which include five sub-calculation modules, they are power flow calculationmodule, short-circuit calculation module, lightning protection and groundingcalculation module, wire tension sag calculation module and bus voltage verificationmodule. The calculation modules are independent of each other, and the intuitive andfriendly man-machine interface are developed. Part two: The functional modules of the software are developed, includingoriginal data import module, calculation results viewer module, and reports generationmodule. Each modules are connected and can be called in the main program, whichcomplete communication and data exchange between the main program andsub-calculation modules.Comparing with traditional software, the software has good characteristics suchas versatility and maintainability, the original data used for calculation can beimported easily, and the results can be viewed directly after calculation, in addition,the calculation process and formulas can be saved as reports, which is convenient andprovide valuable services to users. After testing of examples, comparing the results ofsoftware with the provisions of factory technical regulations and the calculationresults of professional designers, which proves the accuracy and practicality of thesoftware.
