This thesis aims at the type E420-13.73-560KT boiler made in Russia in GANSU XIGU Thermal Power Plant, which was designed for inducting proper amount of recycled flue gas into furnace to prevent slagging. Through series of research and test such as simulation test of recycled flue gas to prevent slagging, cold state modular test of burners of single corner and the test of applying recycled flue gas to prevent slagging at the site, it indicated that the application of recycled flue gas can not only reduce the temperature level at the exit of the furnace and prevent slagging in the furnace, but also improve the power of the boiler and help the boiler runs at the rated load in a long time. The appropriate amount of recycled flue gas will not arose exceeding temperature limits of the super heater, on the contrary, it abates air pollution by lessening the amount of NOx in the emissions. At the mean time, it improves efficiency of the unit by reducing thermal consumption, total coal consumption and supply power coal consumption. It breaks a new path to prevent slagging to apply recycled flue gas. The system of recycled flue gas is simple to construct and convenient to operate and low operation cost, so it has great potentialities.
