Water supply system is a lifeline of Three Gorges Project Construction. It is a practical problem and it relates to Three Gorges Project Construction directly that whether the system runs safely and efficiently. This study researched on optimal control of the water supply system for Three Gorges Project Construction, and the water supply control system started to be built and to be used.For the practice of the water supply system of Three Gorges Project Construction, this study set up a Microcosmic Hydraulic Model. At the same time, it set up the Forecast Model by the Analysis of Time Series in water consumption both by day and by hour. And finally, the study states an Optimal Decision Mathematics Model, which aims at making the least power consumption during the water supply. With the help of such a model, people can seek the optimal solution by means of Dynamic Programming. Some instance and data have proved that by optimal control, the water supply system can save energy up to 5.5%, and it have obtained great economical effect.On the base of above researches, the water supply control system is being built now. The result of this study is being used to control the water supply system and effects are being gained.The research starts the precedent of the water supply system optimal control in the great hydroelectric construction, setting an example for Xiluodu Project and Xiangjiaba Project, which is lie in the upper reaches of the Yangtzi River; and it also sets an example for the cities which lie in the mountain areas and have the similar water supply system structure as the study mentions.
