The Optimal Control plays an important role in water supply systems. Much operating cost can be saved through a reasonable Control scheme. Research has been carried out by experts from our country and abroad in Control methods, including simulated annealing method, generalized reduction gradient, dynamic programming method and genetic algorithm. Due to limitations of these methods, their external conditions are required in solving practical problems.This paper firstly introduced the general situation of water supply networks at home and abroad. Then based on the water demand forecasting, a mathematical model on water supply network, is established. Also the basic theory of AGA is presented. The Control effect is ameliorated greatly through the improvement on objective function and several steps of algorithm. Finally, the model is practiced in project example.
