The invert technique which plays an important role in national economy is part of Electric and Electronic technique, and now it is being applied to many fields of industry production. As the application of the invert technique, the newly developed invert Power supply is gradually taking the place of traditional power supply because of its reliable dynamic-static performance and high efficiency. In this paper, a phase shifting pulse width modulated (PWM) soft switching high voltage invert power supply has been developed with the use of the principle of advanced invert technique and the new type of power semi-conductor device-Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) .So far, high power is the tendency to the development of invert technique. In the chapter one, the primary principle of invert technique and its types have been dealt with. It also previews the development on high power invert technique in the future, as the result pointing out that the trend of the coming invert technique are high frequency, high power and highly intelligence.Increasing the work frequency is the key problem of eliminating the noise of power supply and reducing its volume. The restricted factor, hard switching of power semiconductor, has been introduced in the chapter two. For that purpose, the paper discusses the origin and categories of soft switching, introduces its developing process and typical circuit, pointing out their advantages and disadvantages.In chapter three, Based on the analysis of the restricted factor of high frequency and the latest research achievements, it puts forward and designs the integrity structure of phase shifting PWM soft switching high voltage invert power supply. The main circuit, driving circuit and high voltage high frequency transformer are discussed in detail in this chapter.
