At fast, this paper introduces the fundamental knowledge of diesel vibration and noise, especially the vibration of diesel appearance. Secondly, it formulates the modern design theory and method of internal-combustion engine. In the last chapter, it analyses the modal characteristics of the cylinder block of ZH1105 diesel applying the Finite Element modal analysis. Making use of 3D technique in the I-Deas software, it creates the solid modeling of cylinder block. Then it makes the modal analysis on the solid modeling. From it, parameters and modal of vibration containing 10 ranks are obtained. At last, on the basis of the conclusion the structure features in terms of vibration that the eylinder block bears are analyzed, which provides the basis for modifying cylinder block design.
