A GIS of urban water distribution system and analysis system under GIS environment are introduced, including its design thought general structure and key technology. It is developed using VB6.0 on the basis of MapInfo and is supported by OLE.CPA-GIS use the Maplnfo to manage attributable information and geography. The application program operating Maplnfo and data exchange between the systems is developed through OLE. The system have powerful ability of spatial data management computation and analysis. As the key technology of CPA-GIS, the methodology and process of establishing dynamic models of calculation are presented. Analysis of the network's structure and statistical analysis of water quantity are described. Experiment proved that the calculation model could represent the flow of water in networks reliably.A topological-based method for determination of source-serving districts and drawing pressure-contour in multi-source networks was developed, a matrix describing topological relationship between lines and joins in the multi-source networks was set up for the computer-aided analysis. Graph display of source-serving districts, dividing lines and pressure-contour was performed.
