With the high informationization and automation of the power system, the scale of the network becomes more and more large. The power company need manage large numbers of data of the system equipments. And the power equipments demonstrate the complexity on the space for the transmitting characteristics. All information in Distribution network is closely related to geographic environment.Traditional information-processing technology can't directly performance operation and management of the distribution system. GIS can meet what distribution system operation and customer service need.In this paper, by using MapX and MFC developing tools, a research to GIS systemfor the power distribution network is carry on. And, a presentation on the developmentprocess of the geographical information system is also brought out.The following are the main jobs of this paper.(1) The database of the power distribution network has been designed, and theinformation of each instance and the whole network has been integrated. Thecorresponding component property of the GIS graphic database and property databasehas been transformed by using various kinds of results. The GIS application system isdifferent from the general systems. Another characteristic of the GIS application system is that there is alarge amount of graphic data in the system. The system data organization is differentfrom the pure property data organization according to the characteristic of the graphicdata. As a result, different database design methods are adopted. The space data andnon-space data have been placed into different type database.(2) The development technology for GIS has been studied in detail. The softwareof the system has been developed with the powerful MFC class library and MapXcontrols and it will be help for the future research.(3)As the load unbalanced feature is prominent in 10 kV distribution system in China,a three phase power flow algorithm is presented for real-time calculation of distri-bution systems。By assembled with these functions, a complete GIS system for the power distribution network has been achieved。...
