Earth rockfill dam is widely used in China. It has accumulated much experience in the choice of earth rockfill dam's material, division of dam's body, stabilization of dam, seepage, settlement, analysis of stress and strain, treatment of foundation, criterion of reclamation and machine of construction and so on. But after many years running, many Earth rockfill dam and its foundation has much disease, its normally use and benefit are influenced. According to status of MENGSHAN clay core dam in ZIBO,SHANDONG province, using numerical value analysis theory and technique of dam construction, this paper put forward efficiency strengthen method hi the base of study and analysis.The main work this paper do are these like below:(1) this paper reviewed and summarized the development and actuality of rockfill dam in china, induced the variety of rockfill dam's disease and the measure of judge etc.(2) The commonly used technology and method in rockfill dam's strengthen was summarized. Through analysis and compare, the measure fitting for MENGSHAN dam was put forward.(3) Combine the finite element method, the seepage of MENGSHAN dam and its effect was analyzed, hi the same tune, the quality of construction was demand.(4) coupled with seepage analysis, side slope's stabilization was calculated, then parameter of soil was deduced for reference when strengthen.(5) The Duncan E- v model was adopted to analyze dam before strengthen so as to estimate the original stress and displacement status.(6) Through studying the aging character of composite geomembrane and the relationship between stress or strain with tune, the corresponding curve was fitted and its current of development was forecasted, in the last, combining the stress of dam calculated, the suit composite geomembrane was selected.
