The application of CAE technology in the motorcycle structure design can increase quality of product design,shorten period of motorcycle develpmemt and improve capability of motorcycle design ourselves. It has great value for our motorcycle industry.In this paper,the method of motorcycle product design by CAE technology was discussed. And the CAE technology for motorcycle structure was classified as two kinds. One is structural Finite Element Analysis (hereafter referred to as FEA) technology,another is mechanical Muti-body Dynamic Analysis (hereafter referred to as MDA) technology. The component strength and dynamic characteristic were analysed by builting FEA model of motorbike structure;the motorcycle performance was simulated,and system parameters was optimized by builting MDA model of motorcycle system. With combining of two technologys,the motorcycle structure improvment and refining design from local to whole,part to system became possible. In the FEA part of this paper,to find the avulsion cause of the JH125 motorcycle frame,the analysis model of the frame was built by ANSYS software. Structural static analysis and structural modal analysis were processed. As a result,prediction of damage cause,and stress waveforms of the high-stress regions was achieved,and it was proved by modal experiment that FEA analysis is correct. After succeed to completing the analysis of JH125 frame,the experience was used to analysis the 107 frame which is a develping motorcycle. So the FEA was conducted in motorcycle product development.In the MDA part of this paper,the dynamic model of a full 168 motorcycle was built by ADAMS software. The Performance of 168 motorcycle acceleration brake steering and harshness on random road was simulated. The structure parameters of the motorcycle suspension were optimized.
