This paper researches two problems: the simulation research of model reference adptive control and fuzzy control of electrode regulator system and developing a simulation system of 3-phase A. C arc furnace.Based on the equivalent mathematic model and status equation of arc furnace electrode regulator system and adopting the piecewise-linear theory , the paper researches the discrete-time model reference adaptive control of arc furnace electrode regulator system , and deduced the self-adaptive rule . The simulation shows that model reference adaptive control has little overshoot and favourable tracking characteristic than PID control. Secondly, designing a fuzzy regulator to control arc current . The simulation shows that fuzzy control is suitable to arc furnace system .Developing a simulation experimental system of 3-phase A. C arc furnace , control arithmetics can run in this experimental platform , avoiding the bottleneck of money and practical experiment. This system will quicken the speed of development of arc furnace electrode regulator system .
