In the thesis, the mathematical model of mechatronics soft start equipment is constructed by the analysis of belt conveyor's dynamic properties and the working theory of the mechatronics soft start equipment, the system simulation is conducted in Matlab/Simulink.On the basis of analyzing the working process of belt conveyor, the control system of the mechatronics soft start equipment is studied , the hardware and software are designed for control system. The programme logic controller is utilized to control the inverter's output frequency which accomplishes controlling the velocity of speed-controlling asynchronous moter .The velocity between main asynchronous moter and speed-controlling asynchronous moter is composed by way of the differential planetary gear train , the tranmission system is made to regulate velocity stepless in large scope which succeed in controlling starting progress of load.The Simulated test of the mechatronics soft start equipment is made regarding the experimental platform of belt conveyor as load, the sensor design is had for selecting type ,the testing datum are gatherd and analyzed, the rational curve of velocity in the starting and braking progress are gained ,the best matching ratio of driving power for the double asynchronous moters is found.By means of system simulation and simulated test in laboratory ,the result indicates that mechatronics soft start equipment can control the acceleration of belt conveyor in the starting and braking process and reduce the startup current for driving moter which achieves the belt conveyor starting and braking steadily.
