Probe Into Construction Technology Of Traditional Folk Houses In Shanxi

Based on the investigation and research on Shanxi traditional folk houses in the central, north and southeast part of Shanxi province, the author discusses of the construction technology of Shanxi traditional folk houses.In view of geographical, climatic and economic environment of Shanxi province and the influences of its geology, geomorphology, vegetation distribution and geomantic omen to folk houses, this author first classifies Shanxi traditional folk houses according to their architectural forms and then summaries their characteristics. The author then analyses the heating, bask, natural lighting and stage of Shanxi traditional folk houses. Lastly, the author discusses the protection and sustainable development of Shanxi traditional folk houses and then discusses some points for attention and projects for the reconstruction of Shanxi traditional folk houses.
