In this thesis, the harmonic measurement, data treatment and the effect of electric traction load on power systems are studied. It is discussed that the present harmonic analyzers don't satisfy the requirements of China standard for harmonic measure of quick disturbance harmonic load. The measurement error brought about by the harmonic analyzers adopting FT or FFT algorithm is analyzed. A cycle discrete Fourier Algorithm that shouldn't be effected by aperiodic component is presented, and the results of simulation show that it has higher accureacy. On the above basis, a harmonic analyzer based on industry control microcomputer workstation is developed. It satisfies the requirements of China standard (GB/T 14549-93), The harmonic and negative sequence component leaded by the input of electrified railways traction load are measured in Si Yan Qiao substation. This thesis mainly analyzes the effects on the electric elements, feeding system losses, protection system and automatic device, and proposes corresponding schemes according to the problems occurring in Si Yan Qiao substation.
