As the main type of mechanical transmissions, gear transmission has applied in all fields. How to improve the lubrication and dynamic performance of gear, and how to lower the manufacture cost of gear, witch are the focus that numerous scholars have always studied on. Whether it or not to improve the lubrication and dynamic performance of gear, at the same time to realize a "green lubrication" type of gear transmission of low cost, energy saving and easy maintenance by means of making use of the frication material's lubrication performance and meshed medium's elastic deformation? Base on this idea, this paper studied a new type of gear transmission—"gear transmission with meshed medium belt".Following is my main works:1. Structure of gear transmission with meshed medium belt is designed. Lubrication performance and vibration & noises of this transmission are analysed.2. Witch has worked out the tooth shape of datum rack and computer simulation of gear manufacture. Pointedness, undercut and tooth tip becoming sharp are analysed. Tooth thickness calculation and measurement, superposition coefficient calculation and belt length calculation are resolved. The programme of gear design is finished.3. Base on the numeric method of finite element, the influence of interrelated shift coefficient and tooth number Z to bend intensity of gear is studied. With the increase of the tooth number, tooth root maximum pull stress decrease; With the increase of the interrelated shift coefficient, tooth root maximum pull stress increase. When there is no or lesser undercut, we can use the bend stress's algorithm of involute gear to calculate approximately the bend stress of gear with meshed medium belt, what we to do is to transit the interrelated shift coefficient to the according radial minus shift coefficient of involute gear, and the error can be controlled in 10%.4. The choice reference of medium belt material is came up with: with higher compress intensity, pull intensity and bend fatigue intensity, with middle or low elastic modulus, besides fine heat-resistant, wearable, oil-fast, water-fast anti-impactive capabilities. 5. The hob is designed, and testing gears are manufactured. 6. The performance comparative tests are done within involute gear and gear with meshed medium belt. The results of the studies show that, when fine medium belt, proper load and velocity are selected, the transmission performance of gear with meshed medium belt is superior to invloute gear's; furthermore, it can be lubricated with water, and it's effects are almost fine to the lubricant effects with oil. So we can realize a "green lubrication" type of gear transmission. They also show that the gear transmission with meshed medium belt has distinct disadvantages in depressing vibration & noises contrast to involute gear. The academic studies and test research show that gear transmission with meshed medium belt is a new predominant type of gear transmission which has the disquisitive and applied prospect.
