Practice And Theory Research On New Product Concept Design Process Reengineering

In modern society, the focus of competition has switched to function and performance of product from price of product. Since the function and performance of product greatly depends on product development, the competition among enterprises has become that of the product development. Concept design is critical to the success of new product development. In China, it's not the low efficiency but design ability that results in low quality of concept design. This thesis aims to discuss how to utilize the methods and means of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) in the process of new product concept design, to find the problem from concept workflow and assure the design quality of concept design. Due to the great importance of concept design in product development, this thesis emphasizes that BPR is critical to new product development, and discusses the basic concept, approach of the business process reengineering, and the operating and management model of process. The approach of BPR and the operating and management model of process are two major research objects. Meanwhile, the concept, theory foundation, tactic of BPR have been deeply researched to provide modern enterprise with guidance by systematizing the previous practices and successes on BPR. Based on that, a case study is presented to reengineer the automobile concept design process of XX Company. The physical management model of process has been established, based on meshwork technique. And the outline design of software has been achieved by using UML. The software infrastructure and information security technology have been summarized to indicate the feasibility of this software system. Based on those critical software technologies, new system has been reconstructed by using the J2EE infrastructure.
