The Research Of Project Based Workflow Process Modeling Method

Nowadays workflow management technology is increasingly being exploited by business in variety of industries. In order to make a research into workflow procedure modeling methods, this paper gives an overview of workflow concept fist. And then the author introduces some popular software products of workflow management, their technical properties and limitations are presented in detail. Through analyzing and studying several typical procedures modeling theory and modeling methods, a project-based workflow modeling system has been constructed.The design of the system, each component and the way they work are fully discussed. Unlike the previous work, which are only concerned with the model itself, this system designs both project-group management module and project module, for that will make the modeling responsibility and procedure much clear. This also provides the tables of database and their relations.Since there are still many problems need further study, the advantages and benefits of the application of workflow technology in PDM are not very great. As those problems being solved, workflow technology will be widely used in ship PDM system.
