The treatment and utilization of mine tailings would be related to the three themes in modern society of population, resource, and environment, and have greatly affected to the durativable development of human society. In order to alleviate the negative influence of gangue to the envircnment, and to realize the utilization of gangue as a resource, an investigation on technique process for manufacturing building materials with gangues of V-Ti-mangneticle from Panzhihua as raw materials has been carried out. Firstly, the tentative researches in laboratory were put up. Furthermore, the large-scale experiments were conducted based on the success of the tentative researches. And finally a proto-factory-level experiemet was accomplished.Some problems, such as unreasonable ratio of granules-class, difficulty of solidification reaction, strong shrinkage of stuff, bad attachment of gooey and gangue, led to low speed of solidification, weak initial intensity, and crackles, would frequently take place in the process of producing building materials by using the gangue. According to these characters of gangue, three types of gangues were chosen in the experiment of the laboratory-scale. Based upon the further study of the properties of the row-materials, medicament was developed for brick products, and that effectively improved the speed and intensity of solidification of gangue-brick, anti-aging and anti-penetration. Furthermore, it overcame the bug of products of gangue-brick. Study of experimentation, in which the medicament acted on the resistance and occlude action of venomousness and poisonous ingredient of gangue-brick, showed that the medicament on gangue-brick had the effect of pervading and lixiviating the venomousness ingredients. These measures made the brick-gangue products free of re-pollution, thus one major problem in the utilization of gangue-brick was resolved. The characteristics of gangue-brick and the molding technology of gangue-brick products were also studied in detail in the laboratory-level experimentation. The firm foundation of extended-scale experimentation of brick -making was established.In the extended-scale experimentation of brick-making, we verified optimal conditions including all kinds of technical specifications of the laboratory brick-making, studied the reproducibility and error, investigated the continuity, stability and reliability of the operation of the extended-scale experimentationapparatus, and solved other relevant technical problems in the brick-making process. This made the products quality steady and meet the corresponding national standard of building materials. The economic costs were estimated according to the results of the extended-scale experimentation, which made the technique of gangue brick-making approaching to perfect. A new technique of gangue brick-making that made the reagent system suitable for the molding technique came into being. The results of the experiments showed that four types of products, including gangue standard brick, gangue airbrick, multicolor light sidewalk and shell light sidewalk brick produced by V-Ti-magnetite in Panzhihua, all reached or even exceeded the corresponding national standard of building materials, under the conditions of gangue containing 80 to 90 percent (including 3 to 5mm gangue and part of gangue replaced by trivial stones).The following results were obtained from the research.1.Gangue standard brick: compressive strength was 23.8 Mpa (met class 15specification), bend-resistance strength was 7.9 MPa (met class 15 specification),water absorption ratio was 8.8 percent (met class 15 specification), and freeze-proofpacity, water-resistance (met class 15 specification), and deviation of exterior size,appearance quality were in agreement with the standard.2.Gangue hollow brick: compressive strength was 5.9 MPa (met class Mu 5.0 specification), penetrability resistance was 8 mm and water absorptivity was 9.2 percent, and all met standard specifications.3.Multicolor light sidewalk brick: compressi...
