As a software package for modeling, simulating, and analyzing dynamic systems, Simulink has been used to explore the behavior of a wide range of dynamic systems such as machinery, electron, communication and automaticallying control, etc. based on strong capability of visualization, program and integration. This paper introduce Simulink to simulation of structural nonlinear seismic responses innovative, working on regulation and dominance of simulation of structural dynamic response of Simulink based on muti-storey shear-type model and member model, and set up basic block of structural dynamic response to pave the way for wide analysis of structural dynamic response, especially vibration control. Above all, This paper work on the principle of Simulink. Principle of block and model are explained during initialization and execution stage. Then Runge-Kutta (4,5) formula which is a main numerical integration method of Simulink and zero crossing detection function are analyzed. At last, this paper study on the accuracy, astringency and stability of numerical integration method of Simulink and point out that Runge-Kutta (4,5) formula of Simulink show excellent capability of accuracy and stability during the stage of simulation.Based on the comprehension of Simulink, this paper build multi-storey shear-type models and member models based on bi-linear type and Takeda type after many blocks of Simulink were set up. Then blocks such as blocks of hysteresis force, damp force and integration of stiffness etc. that were proved correct are added to the block library of Simulink to pave the way for wide research on structural dynamic analysis. Results of two examples using these two models are analyzed and compared with the results of universal software. It is proved that model of Simulink are correct and dominant in many aspects, especially in stability and accuracy.This paper indicates that simulation of structural nonlinear seismic response based on Simulink is feasible and necessary. Although two simple models of structural analysis models, namely multi-storey shear type and member model, are set up, It is proved that Simulink show great dominance in simulation of structural dynamic response, especially in vibration control. It can be predicted that Simulink will get more extensive and more abundant application in the field of civil engineering.
