| This paper introduces a simple convenient and practicable video traffic flow information collection system, which can work without calibration of vision fields, and processes digital images with software completely. This paper also discusses usual methods of processing digital images. Based on digital images processing technology, this paper gives a design of the system according to requirements of applications, and also expatiates on theories and methods of some important parts. The actual effect is tested. Traffic flux and average speed detection are realized based on Visual C++, in addition, the idea is brought forward that to recognize vehicles by its aspect ratio.
