This thesis expresses the elastic theory of the soil element increment for the settlement analysis and calculation of the foundation soil. And puts forward a simplified and experiential formula for practical project according to consolidation theory of unsaturated soil. The composer anatomizes the present compacting ratio value with the stress distribution property under vehicle load and dead weight load, then pures the smallest stress place in the embankment according to the stress distribution property, and suggests a actual compacting ratio value for embankment firstly according to internal load stress distribution curve. And questions simplified calculation methods for the settlement of embankment.hi fact, the surface services for the vehicle driving. It is possible to cause lots of disease in the embankment and pavement as long as it ensures the vehicle that it can be safe, economical and comfortable driving. So the writer presents calculation index that can control settlement of embankment with comfort-ability of the vehicle, and induces a actual settlement index value of pavement function firstly. One is roughness-parabolic method according to the request of "Technical Specifications for Maintenance of Highway Asphalt Pavement" and" Technical Specifications of Cement Concrete Pavement Maintenance for Highway ". Another is curvature-parabolic method according to centrifugal acceleration of the vehicle in settlement section. At last, compartmentalization settlement index value according to structural form and design running speed respectively.
