Wire ropes are used extensively in many industries and life-sustaining situations as important parts of lifting , transportation and load-bearing instruments, the safety of the usage of wire ropes is very important. So the nondestructive defect detection of the wire rope is developed rapidly. In the developed course, the defect detection of wire rope has developed from the qualitative detection to the computer aided quantitative detection. The quantitative defect detection of wire rope includes two parts: message sensing and date dealing. This kind of sensor should have enough defect quantitative differentiation and high signal noise ratio. And the data dealing and recognizing is also a very difficult task in the nondestructive defect detection of the wire rope.Loss of metallic cross-sectional area is a familiar and important wire rope defect. According to the reality of engineering, the article makes a deep study of the electricity-magnetism detection of the Loss of metallic cross-sectional area of wire rope, brings forward a designing method of LMA detecting sensor based on the theory of magnetic bridge, develops out a data collecting and dealing system that is assorted to it, and accomplishes all the designing and confecting work of the hardware and software of the system.Magnetization is the first step of the technique of the nondestructive defect detection of the wire rope. In order to detect the defect with high efficiency and low costing, use the everlasting magnet to magnetize the wire rope to the deeply saturated condition. On the base of it, convert the wire rope LMA signal to corresponding electricity signal according to the theory of magnetic bridge. The article probes into the theory of detection, analyze the magnetic bridge by the ideal mathematics model. Study the ability of differentiation by the axes of the theory of magnetic bridge and design the corresponding sensor to make the converting come to reality.The signal that is output by the sensor can be collected and dealt with by the 16-bit microcontroller,8097BH. 8097BH can do well in data collecting and dealing with high speed. The CPU is 16-bit wide, and can operate by bit byteword and double word. There are many I/O function components in 8097BH and make the system designing very convenient. The article develops a wire rope LMA detective instrument based on 8097BH. The defect signal can be collected memoried waving displayed data dealt by the instrument and finally the conclusion can be put out at once.In consideration of a large quantity of interference, design of interference resisting is a very important aspect in the system. The interference resisting measures are discussed in the article, such as sensor designing, signal transmission package, PCB designing, signal processing, etc. the measures make the system has a strong ability of interference resisting and enhance the signal noise ratio.During the process of the research, lots of experiments are done to test the system performance. Experiments prove that the testing system can be used to wire rope nondestructive testing. The result of signal analysis also accords with the fact basically. The study has a high value in the reality of engineering.
