Steel wires are the key part of lifting, transportation and bearing the weight in the equipment and are widely applied to a lot of engineering practices. The damage conditions and load-bearings capability of the steel wire rope are related to the equipments and human-body safety every moment. At the present time, we guarantee the productive safety by two means, which are manual visual-check and termly forcible replacement. These means not only produce tremendous waste due to discarding the steel wire ropes which are still usable, but also inflict the hidden troubles of accident resulted from not timely replacing steel wires damaged severally for certain incidental factors. As a result, research to develop and manufacture advanced steel wire rope NDT instrument, in respect of both economic benefits and social benefits, is considerable.The subject study some problems about detection of steel wire's damage, it includes mostly the analyze of detection principle, the design of sensor, processing method of detection signal and features and variational law of detection signal in different circumstances of the steel wire rope injury. This instrument can preferably solve the problem of breaking of the steel wire rope to relieve greatly workers' workload and working strength, and prolong effectively operating life of the steel wire ropes. This product has market prospect and value for spread.The subject is entrusted by the Liaoning Electric Power Limited Company to solve the technical problems of detection and maintenance of the weaving and steel wire in the engineering of sending electricity. Based on generally analyzing and discussing the domestic and international advanced detection technique of steel wire, the thesis generalizes, induces and compares various methods in theory. Moreover, it discusses the domestic and international devices existing for steel wire rope detection. The thesis studies thoroughly electro-magnetic detection principle electro-magnetic detection device and defect signal of steel wire, and aim at the characteristic of the weaving steel wire, develop NDT-device of steel wire ropes applied to electric power system for racking wires. In this device, magnetic resistance principle basedmain flux, the technique of differential transform and the new method and device are adopted, at the same time the whole system is administered by computers and detailedly calculated in theory and debugged in experiments repeatedly, to implement on-line real-time NDT system controlled by the microcomputer.The paper studies some problems of steel wire damage, it includes the analyse of detection principle, the design of sensor, analyse method of signal and the characteristic and of the varied rule of detection signal.The device can solve the problem of weaving steel wire brokens detection, relieves the workload and working strength of worker's and increases the operating life of steel wire. So this product owns good market foreground and promotion value.
