Expansion soil is a special kind of plastic clay of significant expandability. It is composed of a graet deal of strong hydrophilic clay minerals, such as montmorillonite and illite. when water is absorbed. Expansive soil will present high expandability; however, when water is lost, expansive soil will shrink.This article use fuzzy mathematics to appraise 4 indexs include expansion force, free expansion ration, liquid limit, plastic limit and establish a fuzzy method to judge the swell-shrink grade. Based on different water content of expansion soils, the swelling increment and speed rate of expansion is studied in this paper, the swelling increment and speed rate of expansion is studied in this paper. According to experimental data, the formula for swelling increment ,speed rate of expansion and water content is established. Against special engineering properties of expansion soils, influence factors of swell-shrink Distortion are analyzed. In this paper ,it builds artificial nerve network forecast model to forecast swell-shrink distortion of expansion soils. In the engineering practice, it is a high effective way of using lime to handle expansive soils. Based on the experimental results, the change of physical properties are studied. This paper brings up a new method of synesizing unconfmed compressive strength and expansive ratio to determine amount of lime.
