The visual integrated system of power plant's protection setting is a software. It is designed for a power plant in order to reduce the workload of the relay protection workers, decrease the percentage of protection device's false action, and increase the work efficiency of the device in power plants. The modules of this system are organized to three layers. Based on the top module man-machine interface and the bottom module database, the other modules are linked between the two modules to accomplish different functions.This paper analyses the data related to the protection calculation, designs and realizes the database of this system via relation database design's method. By Object Modeling Technique (OMT), the meta graphics of devices in power plant are modeled into three types by different aspects, which are object model, dynamic model and functional model. Those models are realized in C++. Using Excel, Expanding its function via the XLL add-in technology, the report forms module of this system can achieve the dynamic data automatically. A unique data modification interface is provided to assert the security of system's data.This system can be operated and maintained easily. It has a friendly man-machine interface. The graphs of the power plant's network topology are also built and modified easily. The user of this system can query and look through report forms on the network directly. The format of the forms can be set by the user freely.
