Tensioner system is a key attachment of pipe laying barge. Its dynamic behaviors directly influence the offshore pipe laying operations. But the dynamic research about tensioner is very rare. Based on the project of 'the design of offshore pipe laying tensioner' for Shengli oilfield, considering the bitter operation environment of tensioner, this thesis presents the dynamic modeling and simulation of pipe laying tensioner using power bond graph and Matlab/Simulink technology. The research includes the following contents:The system design of tensioner, which includes system structure, principle of operation, and function of its hydraulic system, is researched deeply.Based on the investigation of behavior characteristic of subsystems, the dynamic mathematic models of variable pump, accumulator, low speed and high torque motor and relief valve are developed using power bond graph. Then, according to the coupled relationship of all subsystems, the dynamic mathematic model of tensioner is given.The dynamic behaviors of all main subsystems and the effect of structure parameters on them are investigated through Matlab/Simulink. Furthermore, the complete tensioner systems dynamic as well as the effect of some subsystems and parameters, such as accumulator, relief valve, bulk modulus and load etc., are discussed in detail. The acquired dynamic simulation results show the feasibility and validity of subsystems and system model. In addition, a hydraulic components Simulink library, which can build visualized and parameterized simulation model, is developed in Matlab/simulink software environment.In summary, this thesis presents the complete dynamic modeling and simulation research of tensioner system. All research results not only play an important theory-instructing role in improvement, optimization and redesign of tensioner system, but also have a good chance to be applied in practice.
