Virtual endoscopy is a non-invaded and non-touched means for medical examination, and is widely used in many medical fields recently. Some key techniques and realizations of virtual endoscopy are systematically investigated. Firstly, the medical image DICOM3.0 format is analyzed. Image filters, image enhancements, and the liner interpolation between the images are researched, and a morphology-based shaped interpolation algorithm for improving limitation of the liner interpolation is proposed. Secondly, an interactive 3D segmentation algorithm for interactively segmenting complicated objects is proposed. Finally, the interactive virtual endoscopy techniques are discussed, a fast surface rendering method Base on improving Dividing cubes algorithm is proposed, and Manual interactive wandering fashion and automatics wandering fashion in Virtual endoscopy system are realized. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
