Medical Virtual Endoscopy is a new technology that unites much new technology about the Model Medical Image technology, the Computer Graphics, the Digital Image Processing, the Scientific Visualization technology and the Virtual Real technology, and so on. It is based on Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance (MR) volumetric data sets to simulate the tracks of a "conventional" Fiber Endoscope. From high-resolution image data acquired from CT or MR scanners, Virtual Endoscopy reconstructs a three-dimensional (3D) virtual model of hollow organ and allows the physician to navigate inside the model to detect polyps. Compared with Fiber Endoscopy, Virtual Endoscopy is a non-invasive examination method, which can reduce the patient's pains and lower the risk of bleeding and infection.The realization of Virtual Endoscope System involves some critical software skills which include medical image segmentation, 3D reconstruction technology, virtual navigation and so on. Aiming at these critical technologies, I did some aspect research in this essay as follows.In aspect of the medical image segmentation, according to medical dissection construction characteristics of human body organization organ, I respectively used SOFM neuron network and FCM methods. I correctly segregated out colon organization area in every frame cut image from series of CT data of belly and got the data of hollow cavity which Virtual Endoscope needed.In aspect of the 3D reconstruction technology, I respectively realized some key algorithms which were in surface portrayal and body portrayal, namely Marching Cube algorithm and beam track algorithm. At the same time, I made some improvements which aimed at the two methods, and used them in Virtual Endoscope System in this paper. The practical result shows the methods which are in the paper can get well effect.In addition, on the base, I also explored mix portrayal technology and carried out mix portrayal technology based on the surface portrayal and the body portrayal. I put forward the realization project which appliance of the surface portrayal and the body portrayal mixed in Virtual Endoscope System.In aspect of the virtual navigation, I realized colon organic virtual navigation based on the surface portrayal and acquired favorable navigation effect.
