Gasoline engine, when applied as the power plant for agricultural machinery, gardening machinery, generator and so forth, is equipped with speed governor to insure a steady rev, as there is a chang of load. As for existing mechinic speed governors, the problems are its poor accuracy and large time consumption to achieve stable state. It is needed to design a digital electronic speed governor of low price and good performance for minitype gasoline engine to meet the ever-amounting requirement by production of the economy, reliability and automatization of power plant.On the basis of investgation on the related literature of electronic speed governor at home and abroad, this proper control parameters are obtained through the experimental research of the PID digital control parameters with the orthogonality method and through the analysis of the speed change of gasoline engine rev.The electronic speed governor designed hereby performs its controlling fuction through programs, the stable rev and static timing rate of which are also set and controlled by software, has,therefore large universality and function flexibility.So for different types of gasoline engines, the obtainment of relevant parameters and the designing of relevant programs suffice to realize the control functions of the electronic speed governor.The outcome shows that such digital electronic speed governor is in possession of stable timing rate of 1.0% and instantaneous timing rate of 6.2%.And it is worth a wide popularization for its simple structure and low cost.
