The Study On The AFC's Chain Tension Control System

With the development of AFC towards long distance, high speed, long carrying capacity and large driving power, the request for its performance is improving constantly too. This paper analyses the AFC's chain tension control system aiming at the instability of the chain's tension.First, the paper analyses the necessity of the tension control device of the AFC, and it introduces the calculation methods of the parameter of the extending device and the young's modulus of chains for different types.Second, it analyses the relation between the sag and the tension of the loose side chain at the head end unit of AFC, upon which the control system circuit was designed and the experiments was made.Finally, this paper analyses the hydraulic pressure system of the tension control device, and makes a dynamic simulation of the whole control system with software MATLAB 6.0.
