This thesis lays emphases on the following questions about the air conditioner load:1. On the basis of the test about air conditioner, its load characteristics are analyzed, including the static characteristics, drop out characteristics, starting characteristics and its responses to voltage dips. It shows that the current impact can reach five to eight multiples when the air conditioner started and come back within 0.3 to 0.5 second. 0.6 pu voltage is the critical voltage whether the air conditioner will stall.2. Modeling a single air conditioner is necessary. Compared with the static model in errors, dynamic degrees and response curves, dynamic model is better. When voltage is above 0.6 pu, the Karlsson-Hill model is suitable. When below, with air conditioner stalled, a new subsection model is established. Result shows that the new model is good to simulate the dynamic of air conditioner.3. Setting the subsection model as user-defined load model, calculations are carried out with it. At first the user-defined model is confirmed be correct and strong robustness. Then simulations are done under different faults and different networks. Thus different dynamic responses are obtained and applied to observing the total characteristics of air conditioner flock.4. Based on the total characteristics, the flock model is discussed. Several conditions are assumed, including that all air conditioners start at the same time, all air conditioners start by equably distribution in the range of 3 to 5 seconds, all air conditioners start by normal distribution in the range of 3 to 5 seconds. Then withthese three supposes three flock models are established respectively.5. The influence of air conditioners on the problem of transient stability is discussed, mainly putting emphasis on the restarting of air conditioners after voltage's comeback. The result shows that the more air conditioners' collection, or the more air conditioners' quantitie, the heavier influence will be on the network.Research work of this thesis help knowing and improving the situation that air conditioners do a heavy influence on the power network.
