This paper is carried out around the development of high performance two-pole chemical fiber electric motor which possesses wide market prospect in chemical fiber trade, and gains series of results which have certain academic level and engineering practical worth. This paper consist of six parts:Torque components of line start permanent magnet synchronous motor (LSPMSM) are studied deeply, especially the motor's minimum torque and pull-in torque during the starting process. The influence of motor's parameter on torque components is analyzed.According to the design features of chemical fiber electric motor, computer-aided design software which is suitable for chemical fiber electric motor design is developed. The influence of the motor's design parameters on starting performance is deeply contrasted. Based on the two-pole chemical fiber electric motor design features, the design rules of high performance two-pole chemical electric motor is given. The digital simulation model of LSPMSM based on the PARK equation is given and the simulation software of LSPMSM's starting process is developed. The starting process of LSPMSM is studied through simulation.A high performance two-pole chemical fiber electric motor is developed. During this design a new kind of rotor structure with closed slots and opened slots is adopted. Analysis and contrast of this new structure have been done by electromagnetic method. The prototype test has been done. Test results show the prototype's starting performance can meet the require of production, and efficiency and power factor contrast to factory standard have been enhanced greatly.
