This dissertation is closely connected with the practical work condition and the technical problems existing in the painting process of coating parts in domestic automobile industry. The followings are studied theoretically, the theory of the structural design and the dynamic characteristics of the High-Speed Magnetic and Air Sustaining Electrostatic Painting Atomizer System (HSMASEPAS), which are equipped with the radial magnetic bearings and the thrust air bearings. The outcomes of the contributions can be summarized as follows:The mechanical model of radial magnetic bearings is set up. The characteristics of the structure are analyzed in allusion to the radial magnetic bearings made up of four-ring magnets axially arranged, and then the mathematical expression of the axial magnetic attractive forces is obtained; the origin of the radial force is discussed by the analysis of magnetic circuit in four-ring magnets. The radial carrying capacity is concluded.On the basis of the hydrostatics and continuous equation, the work principle of the thrust air bearings is researched. The inherent relations between the air-consuming quantity and the diameter of the throttle holes and bearing clearance are simulated.Considering the practical work condition of the turbine, the dynamic characteristics are analyzed from the aspect of the failure possibility. The kinetic orbit of the axis and radial transient dynamic response is obtained. The dynamic stability can be observed directly.The working point of the magnetic air bearings is acquired by simulating the carrying capacity of the Painting Atomizer System.the rationality of the theoretical model and correctness of the simulation results is verified through self-designed experiments.
