Today nonlinear analysis has become an important part of structural seismic design, among which the nonlinear static push-over analysis has attracted the attention of more and more researchers for its merits of practicality. The nonlinear static analysis has become one of nonlinear analysis tools of Chinese seismic code.The development and its status of nonlinear static push-over analysis are described firstly in this paper. Then based on the theory of nonlinear push-over analysis, ETABS application was used to analyze three frame shear-wall structures in TongLuoWan Engineering. The research contents involve nonlinear base shear vs. top displacement relationship of push-over analysis, the distribution of story drifts, the change of the adaptive lateral load patterns. The influences of some factors on the analysis results of nonlinear push-over analysis have been researched in details. These factors included the lateral load patterns, adaptive lateral patterns, structural plan asymmetric and the higher mode effects.Under the research works above, some useful conclusions about nonlinear static push-over analysis have been obtained in this paper.
