With the rapid development of industry and agriculture and increase in population, the townlets in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area face that water resources are being polluted. And in the area, water is always in shortage. In order to ensure social stability and people's health, research and development of small apparatuses for water purification that are applicable to the Three Gorges Reservoir Area are very important.In this thesis, the treatment process used in the integrative apparatus for water purification is explained. And the design parameters for it are also analyzed in this thesis. The treatment of common raw water using the apparatus is studied through experiment. The contents of the experiment include the treatment effect of raw water in design inflow and the comparison of the treatment effects in different inflows. In the apparatus, the treatment units such as mixing, flocculation, sedimentation and filtration are included. The design inflow of the apparatus is 40m3/d, and the maximal inflow is 50m3/d. The apparatus can be run in different inflows, and the treatment effects are different. Five different inflows are choosen in the experiment. They are 10m3/d, 20m3/d, 30m3/d, 40m3/d and 50m3/d. In the experimental condition, the removal efficiencies of turbidity, CODMn, NO3--N and NO2--N are 93~97%, 42~47%, 10~18% and 46~64% respectively. During the experiment, the averages of turbidity, CODMn, NO3--N and NO2--N of the effluent are 0.21~0.30 NTU, 1.93~2.31mg/L, 2.4~3.0mg/L and 0.011~0.044mg/L respectively. And the maximum of them are 0.60 NTU, 2.93mg/L, 3.2mg/L and 0.072mg/L respectively. In addition, the colour of raw water, algae, metal irons and heavy metal irons can be removed in different degrees. The quality of effluent can meet the criterion of drinking water quality.During the experiment, it is also found that coagulation and sedimentation can remove most of the pollutions in raw water. Through coagulation and sedimentation, the removal efficiencies of turbidity, CODMn, NO3--N and NO2--N are 76~89%, 36~40%, 6~13% and 14~25% respectively. Certainly, the function of the filter can't be ignored. As the final unit of the process, the filter can ensure the quality of effluent.The technical and economical index and the applicability of the apparatus are also analyzed. The result shows that in design inflow, the unit investment of the apparatus is 847.88RMB/(m3/d), and the unit operation cost of it is 0.542RMB/m3. The apparatus is applicable to the townlets in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, and has a good prospect.
