Virtual Prototyping Technology is a new technology which is very useful in the design of new products. It can decrease the product cost, shorten the product developing time, optimize the product properties and enhance the product competition ability. Virtual Prototyping Technology is increasingly used in developed countries in the world, but it just begins to find applications in China.In this paper, Virtual Prototyping Technology is used to kinematically and dynamically animate and analyze a medical machine. The interface problems between ADAMS and SOLIDWORKS were solved and necessary information about all components in the machine were collected and transferred. The solid model was established and all moving pairs between connected components were defined. After finishing freedom analysis, kinematic and dynamic calculations for the medical machine were performed. Finally, kinematic and dynamic parameters such as displacements, speeds, accelerations for allcomponents and the dynamic energy for the whole machine were obtained which are very important for the optimization of the machine and the selection of the driving unit for the machine.
