It is a frequent performance of the synchronization of generators in power plants. Spare generators are required to be rapidly plunged into the system to meet the customer's increasing demands caused by electric load's rising as the system is in good order, and to stop system's breakup in result of power supply's losing when faults occur. In the two cases, the synchronizing course must be dependable, safe and rapid to ensure generators safe and system running reliably and economically. In power plants, quasi-synchronizing devices assume the responsibility. These devices directly influence generators' safety and life expectancy. Apart from this,it is also not ignored to economize energy. At present, most power plants adapt microprocessor-based, automatic quasi-synchronizing devices whose performances greatly exceed handraulic and analogue devices. With these new high performance devices widely used,it is convenient to plant operators in synchronizing operations ,and largely guarantees safety, brings up huge economic utility. The theme of the paper is researching and developing of a new kind of automatic quasi-synchronization device based on DSP chip. The paper has elaborated the important status of microprocessor-based automatic quasi-synchronization device in power system, exhausted the principles of synchronism, analysed the deficiency of handraulic and analogue devices. According to the real researching course, the paper has described the hardware and software designing ways. We have tested our device with equipment and the testing result is satisfying. In a synchronization course ,when the voltage-difference,the frequency-difference,the rate of change of frequency-difference comply with the requirements ,our device will grasp the first synchronization opportunity and plunge the generator into system with a smallest impact.
