In this paper, the method of water gates' automation is researched and hardware and software sections in this system are designed. This system is able to monitor the state of water gates and trashrack and control water gates open and close quickly and smoothly.In this system, SC(Single-Chip-Micro Computer) is used. SC is little in volume and strong in anti-interference . So, SC is suited as CPU of WGCS (Water Gates Control System).General structure of WGCS is three-level-and-two-web structure. In working level, Profibus is used, which is advanced in security, expandability and interoperability.Algorithm of WGCS is PID adjustment algorithm. Based on characters of water gates operation, PID algorithm is ameliorated.Sensor is one of the most important component. In this paper is narrated the development of sensor in IT era. And some new sensors are used in WGCS to improve security of the system.To function as monitor of water gates and trashrack and controller of water gates, WGCS includes data collection section, computation and adjustment section, control section, compare and decision section, report section, instrument protection section, communication section. In this paper are designed hardware and software, and specific circuit figures are drawn.Finally, a discussion is shown on improving the anti-interference ability of WGCS.
