At first, the present situation and development of computer chip cooling methodsare introduced, including every new methods'function ways under research.Though comparison between them, macro-pipelined water-cooling system drivenby piezoelectric (PZT) pump is the most promising method which reach the goal ofcooling computer chip silently and efficiently. For its characters of small bulk, silence, little consumption, and high outputcapability, PZT pump is selected as the driven component of computerwater-cooling system. PZT pump changes its chamber volume by counterpiezoelectric effect of the PZT diaphragm, and with the help of single-directionedvalve, fluid can be pumped toward one direction. PZT effect and vibration equationof PZT diaphragm are explained and PZT diaphragm's vibration modes aresimulated with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software. By experiments on PZTdiaphragm, optimal driving signal and vibration characters are found. Differentvalves, the key element for PZT pump output capability, are put in the same pumpbody separately, so their performance are compared. For improving of PZT pump'soutput capability and reliability, PZT pump's structure is optimized, so mechanicalbonding and sealing are realized. PZT pump Samples with single, double, three andfour chambers are fabricated and experimentally tested to draw the conclusionshow the actuating signal, chamber height, number of chamber and valve affect PZTpump's output capability. At last, parallel-connectioned PZT pump with doublechambers is selected as the actuating element. In order to spill out the heat produced by computer chip, heat sinks and radiatorsof different type and material are made. Theories of inner-piped laminar flowfriction loss, forced convective heat conduction, heat transmission through ribs ofradiator and flow's sweeping lengthways wide plane are used to design heatsinks and radiators. What's more, measures to improve heat transmission areintroduced. Two types of water-cooling radiator are constructed, and heat...
