Performance Control And Analysis For Mechanical Governor

The mechanical governor is used widely in I.C. engine industry of our country, but its deficiencies are appearing increasingly. In this paper, the mechanical governor fitted on our medium-speed diesel engine has been analyzed and studied, all troubles of the governor have been summarized, and the design performance for main sensitive elements (such as springs and flyweights) has been analyzed and calculated. On the base of technological test, the designs for above parts have been improved. The structures of some action elements and operating gears have been optimized in order to develop the potentiality of the governor to the full in the case of no investment increased. The experimental results show that the performance of the optimized governor has been improved and the repair due to governor troubles has decreased, and a sound foundation has been laid for further optimizing.
